Voting for West Farm’s 4th Annual Holiday Decor Contest

It is time to vote for West Farm’s 4th Annual Holiday Decor Contest. Voting is now open and will end at 2pm on Tuesday. The top 3 winners will be announced Tuesday evening.

Please understand that we have 70+ houses with holiday decor. With this in mind, some tough decisions had to be made so the focus of this year’s Holiday Decor Contest is on homes that went above and beyond in their decor. Thank you to each and every neighbor who decorated! Our neighborhood looks so festive!

Updates to Luminary Night & Holiday Decor Contest

Updates on Luminary Night & Holiday Decor Contest-

Luminary Night:

Unfortunately, with the weather forecast calling for rain tomorrow we are postponing Luminary Night until next Sunday, 12/18. It’s a beautiful event that is enjoyed by so many. We simply want to make sure the weather allows us all to enjoy it to the fullest.

Holiday Decor Contest:

Due to the rain and mist some pictures didn’t turn out as well as I hoped. Also, it was quite late by the time I finished (around 10:30pm), and I believe some lights were already off. Tonight, I will drive through once again and retake pictures of houses that didn’t turn out as well. I will also take any pics of houses that didn’t have lights on last night due to the weather or the time. I’m so sorry to push the contest back a day, but I want to give every home a fair chance!

If you have a pic you prefer me to use, please email it to me at westfarmatlarge@gmail.com.

If you do NOT want your house included, please email me at westfarmatlarge@gmail.com. Please know that my goal is to leave no house out! So if you have decor (wreaths in windows, candles in windows, outside decor, lights, etc) I took a pic.

I will post the link tomorrow for voting and will end voting at 2pm on Tuesday. Winners will be announced Tuesday evening. Thank you to all of those who have decorated your homes so beautifully for the holidays!

Holiday Decor Contest – Photos 12/9

Don’t forget to turn your Christmas lights on tonight! I plan to take pictures for our Holiday Decor Contest after dark tonight – as long as it’s not raining or foggy.

West Farm’s 4th Holiday Decor Contest

West Farm’s 4th Annual Holiday Decor contest is underway!

Holiday decor should be up by 12/9. Currently, weather permitting, pictures of homes will be taken after dark on 12/9.

Voting will occur 12/10 so please check FB or our website on Saturday for the link to vote. All votes should be cast by 2pm on Sunday 12/11.

Winners will be announced prior to the start of Luminary Night, which is 12/11 from 5 – 8pm.

Happy Holidays!

West Farm’s 4th Annual Luminary Night

Hi everyone!

Sunday the 11th is our annual Luminary Night. Please plan on strolling the neighborhood, share a warm smile with a neighbor, and enjoy this beautiful night. Seeing all the lanterns is very special, and we hope this night brings you a sense of peace and tranquility during this Holiday Season.

Supplies will be available for pickup at the pool house starting tomorrow. Please pickup enough paper bags and tea lights to line the area around your house (pick up some extras if you’re at a corner!).

We recommend you bring a bucket to pick up the sand, and don’t fill your lanterns with the sand until Sunday to avoid ripping the bags.

If you will be out of town, please let your neighbors know so that they can help line your house.

If you can volunteer to help cover common areas and help fill any gaps near your home, please comment below!

Finally, we will have a warm weather clothing drive setup in the pool parking lot. Please stop by on your stroll for some s’mores, warm drinks, and drop off your donations!

Our photographer from last year, Annie, will be joining us again for holiday mini sessions! Sonia will be posting a sign-up sheet on our Facebook page. 15-20min sessions this year will be $30, and you will receive 5 digital images with retouching included.  Please feel free to contact Sonia McKee at sonia.bobula@gmail.com, or stop by 22BB if you need help signing up or have any questions.

New this year– we are looking forward to having vendors setup in our parking lot! If you or anyone you know would like to set up a vendor table, please contact Sonia. The more the merrier!

Finally– if you would like to donate small pumpkins for activities, marshmallows or chocolate for s’mores, please contact Sonia.

Look for more details in the coming weeks!

Landscape Update – 8/30/2022

Landscape Update:

Our prior landscape contractor resigned due to various issues, primarily staffing. Unfortunately, our neighborhood was too big for them to continue to service at a level we expect. During the 30-day termination period, he came down with Covid and informed us he would no longer be able to return to our neighborhood.

The Board reviewed 3 companies and selected a local contractor from Fountain Inn. Their contract begins September 1, 2022. At this time, we expect them to begin servicing our neighborhood within the 1st week of September.

We should also give a huge Thank You to Mark Thompson, our Board President. He consistently mowed and took care of what areas he could with what time he had. Mark, thank you for helping our neighborhood during this tough transition.

Again, we apologize for our common areas not being up to their usual standards, but we hope you all understand that sometimes, even with the best intentions, we may face unforeseen circumstances. We are hopeful that all contracted areas will be serviced throughout September.

UPDATE: Pool is open

Update:  We were able to get a plumber out today and the pool is officially open! Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding!

Unfortunately, the pool will be closed through tomorrow. The Men’s bathroom appears to be stopped up and is overflowing from the floor drain. The overflow is seeping out into the hallway between the bathrooms. In speaking with Cedar Management Group, they instructed us that the pool needs to be shut down until resolved – per DHEC regulations. We are working to get a plumber out and to resolve as quickly as possible. We currently expect to have the issue resolved tomorrow, but will know more once the plumber has evaluated.
